Hyundai is making progress in its choice of the new mobility products encapsulated by the MobED mobility platform. The MobED is a four-wheeled robot that is designed to carry everyday loads with a top speed of 30KM/h.
The Hyundai MobED concept was first announced during CES in January 2021 and the company has now released a press announcement outlining some details of the new four-wheeled robot.
The MobED is designed to carry everyday parcels along with humans. With a dimension of 67x60cm, with four independently controlled 12″ pneumatic tires and a solid suspension system. The suspension system of the MobED accommodates the tilting of the central platform in any direction.
This helps the MobED to keep goods level while navigating through angular surfaces such as a ramp or a slope. Hyundai is conceptualizing some innovative applications of the MobED vehicle.
The South Korean automaker hints that the robot can be used as a personal caddy and it also has several industrial applications as well.
Hyundai intends to market the MobED to industrial partners who can then adapt it to their specific mobility needs. It can also be scaled up for use as a mobility device for the elderly or physically challenged. You can also use it as a stroller or even a leisure vehicle.
The Hyundai MobED has a battery life of 4 hours although several important details about the actual mobility mechanism deployed in the robot are still lacking. The pricing and release date for the MobED is yet to be released by Hyundai.
