This is the moment enthusiasts of the Percy jackson and the olympians book series, first published in 2005, have been demonstrating for years. After two books in the New York Times-bestselling pentalogy were altered into films during the 2010s, famously starring Logan Lerman in the title role, fans have spent nearly a decade openly requesting that Hollywood take another crack at familiarizing the novels for the screen.

Many were displeased with the quality of the movies — including Percy Jackson, novelist and YA fantasy legend Rick Riordan. In June 2020, Riordan exposed that he had never seen the two films, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, and termed the two adaptations a “mess” in since-deleted tweets.

But now, fans can respite and rejoice. A new Percy Jackson live-action series is currently in development, thoroughly patrician Percy Jackson and the Olympians, with Rick Riordan at the helm. Below, we’ve gathered everything we know about the newest addition to the Percy Jackson franchise, with the release date, trailer, plot details, teaser photos, and of course, who’s been cast to describe the next age group of Percy Jackson characters.

Is there a trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians?

On August 18, 2023, the additional teaser trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians was released. The trailer opens with Percy’s descent in a mystical elevator, with on-screen text that reads, “The gods are to come.” “The stories that I had told you about Greek deities and Half-Bloods… they are real,” re-counts a voice that we can only assume belongs to Percy’s mom, Sally. Then there’s a flashy of monsters, Grovery’s satyr form, warriors, swords, an initial look at the united front of our central trio, and a booming welcome: “Percy Jackson, we’ve been expectant you.”

Fans initially looked at the series in a teaser trailer released on September 10, 2022, at Disney’s D23 Expo. Set contrary to the backdrop of a dark forest; the clip features Percy’s narration as he walks into Camp Half-Blood.

“Look, I didn’t famine to be a Half-Blood. Being a Half-Blood is dangerous; it’s creepy — most of the time, it gets you killed,” Percy says. “If you contemplate you might be one of us, my advice is: Turn away though you still can.” Percy’s warning certainly sounds threatening, and the clip ends with a darkened shot of his face, a thunderstorm providing the only light source using the pin concludes.
