Honor 90 GT and Honor Pad 9 Set to Make China Debut on December 21

Honor executives have recently initiated teaser campaigns for the impending launch of the GT smartphones. The upcoming Honor 90 GT and Honor X50GT are rumored to make a debut as the initial Honor smartphones featuring an impressive 24GB RAM. Honor officially disclosed the launch dates for both the Honor 90 GT and Honor Pad 9 devices through its Weibo account.

Various leaks about the Honor 90 GT and X50GT have surfaced, with tipsters on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo revealing details about the launch timeline and chipset specifications for the upcoming Honor smartphones. The 90 GT smartphone has also been spotted in 3C certification by our team at MySmartPrice. Additionally, tipster Digital Chat Station has provided insights into the camera specifications, suggesting that Honor will introduce the Honor Pad 9 alongside the upcoming device.

Honor has officially confirmed that the launch event for the upcoming smartphone is scheduled for December 21 in China, commencing at 7 PM (UTC + 8). The event will be live-streamed on the brand’s social media handles. The teaser shared by Honor highlights a flat AMOLED panel for the upcoming device, featuring a centered punch hole and flat edges.

Another teaser showcases the blue variant of the smartphone, revealing a dual rear camera island in black with integrated LED flash and GT branding. The right side of the device displays the power button and volume rockers. Honor has also affirmed that the device will come equipped with Magic OS based on Android right out of the box.

In a separate teaser, Honor has confirmed the introduction of the Honor Pad 9 alongside the GT series smartphone. The teaser discloses that the upcoming tablet will feature a single rear camera positioned on a camera island in the center of the device, displaying the Honor branding as well. The tablet, which recently obtained 3C certification, supports 35W fast charging.

Leaked information suggests that the Honor device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 512GB of storage. The tablet will run on Magic OS based on Android, similar to the upcoming smartphone, and is expected to be available in White, Grey, and Green color options. Honor is also set to launch a stylus and a keyboard case for the tablet.

Anticipated specifications for the Honor 90 GT smartphone include an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, providing 2160Hz PWM dimming and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, manufactured on a 4nm process. Storage options will include 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 24GB + 1TB variants. The smartphone is likely to be offered in Black, Gold, and Blue color choices. The 3C certification has confirmed support for 100W wired fast charging technology, and the dual rear camera setup is expected to comprise a 50MP primary sensor with OIS.
