What Honda Is Saying
Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India, said the company’s over 48% domestic sales growth reflects positive momentum across its portfolio, crediting the encouraging response to the New City and the launch of the Honda ZR-V, while the Elevate and Amaze continue delivering robust sales backed by strong value propositions. With the festive season approaching, Honda expects its strengthened portfolio to help sustain this momentum in the coming months.
A Bigger Expansion Is Coming
Honda has begun testing its upcoming 0 Alpha eSUV, recently spotted in Manali ahead of its expected 2027 launch, marking the brand’s first dedicated electric SUV for the Indian market. Beyond EVs, Honda has confirmed development of two new India-focused SUVs — a sub-4 metre SUV to rival the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue, along with a midsize SUV positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder, both expected from 2028 onwards.
Honda’s long-term strategy is even bigger, with plans to launch 10 new cars in India by 2030 across ICE, hybrid, and electric powertrains. This positions Honda to compete more aggressively across India’s fast-evolving automotive industry over the rest of the decade.
