This innocent act deepens his feelings for her, setting him on a path of obsession and heartbreak. Holi, in this film, is not just about celebration—it symbolizes Kundan’s emotional transformation and the intensity of his love story.

Mohabbatein

Mohabbatein is a film about a battle between love and strict discipline. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a strict principal who doesn’t allow love in his school, while Shah Rukh Khan plays a music teacher who encourages students to embrace love. Despite the principal’s strict rules, some students sneak out to celebrate Holi with Shah Rukh Khan’s character. This scene challenges the authority of the principal, showing that love cannot be controlled or suppressed. It marks an important moment in the story where the students start breaking the rules and embracing their emotions.

Darr

In Darr, Shah Rukh Khan plays a possessive lover, Rahul, who secretly stalks Kiran (Juhi Chawla). The Holi scene is one of the most intense moments in the film. Taking advantage of the festive chaos, Rahul applies color to Kiran in front of everyone. This is a shocking moment, as Kiran is unaware of his true identity at that point. Her fiancé, Sunil (Sunny Deol), realizes that something is wrong and chases Rahul, but he manages to escape. This scene adds to the tension and fear in the film, making Rahul’s obsession even more dangerous.

Silsila

One of the most iconic Holi songs, Rang Barse, belongs to Silsila. But this song is more than just a celebration, it is a moment of revelation. During the Holi festivities, Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) and Chandni (Rekha) openly express their love for each other, and their respective spouses—played by Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar—realize the truth about their affair. This Holi sequence changes the dynamics of the story, making it a turning point in the film. The bright colors of Holi contrast with the emotional turmoil of the characters, making it an unforgettable moment in Bollywood history.

Sholay

Holi plays a crucial role in Sholay, one of Bollywood’s greatest films. The festival is in full swing when Gabbar Singh and his gang launch an attack on the village. Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra) step up to protect the villagers, showing their strength for the first time. This confrontation makes Gabbar see them as a threat, and he vows to take revenge. The Holi song, Holi Ke Din has a separate fan base.
