Hitman World of Assassination officially hit a big milestone with over 75 million players worldwide. It now ranks as the best-performing title in the Hitman series. The announcement was issued by IO Interactive, the franchise’s developer and publisher.

Attracting plenty of attention on tantalizing gameplay possibilities since its launch, Hitman World of Assassination provides stealth-born opportunities, alongside more direct action, for players in pursuit of a target of their choosing. The different characters you can play, and the assassination contracts you can take on, only sweeten the deal, delivering one of the series, full experiences.

Hitman World of Assassination Hits 75 Million Players Worldwide, Continues to Thrill Fans

One aspect that differentiates Hitman World of Assassination is its commitment to regular updates that ensure the content remains fresh and engaging. The locations have changed, and contracts and events offered, including famous personalities that played targets over the years. If you want proof that this game is popular, it hit one million active players in December. We look forward to new missions and updates driving new life into the game’s success as 2025 approaches.

There was the recent introduction of the Elusive Target Max Valliant, who is played by none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme, for example. But then the man — a former ICA operative believed dead for years — has resurfaced, only now with a top-secret part in secret operations. The mission has been completed by 40% of players, though Max’s formidable skill set has made it difficult for many.

Some players poured hours into completing the task, with a single player taking over seven hours to make sure she had done it thoroughly, while others finished it in as few as 21 seconds. For those looking for new content, the Splitter mission is available until January 12, offering another limited-time opportunity for players to test their skills before it disappears. The future of Hitman World of Assassination looks bright, with more exciting updates on the way.
