Hell Obeys You Now — Diablo Immortal’s Warlock Is Launching June 17 and It Looks Absolutely Diabolical

Diablo’s 30th anniversary just keeps on giving. Hot off the heels of the IGN Live panel, Blizzard has dropped the cinematic debut of the Warlock — Diablo Immortal’s tenth playable class — and it’s every bit as dark, dramatic, and demon-fuelled as you’d hope. Mark your calendars: the Warlock arrives June 17, 2025 at 9am AEST, alongside the massive 5.0 Major Update.

Warlock Launch — Key Details

The Warlock Has Arrived — And Hell Sent Its Best

Part of Diablo’s 30th anniversary celebrations, the Warlock was first teased at the Diablo Spotlight event in February 2025 as a brand-new class rolling out across Diablo II: Resurrected, Diablo IV, and Diablo Immortal throughout the year. Now it’s Immortal’s turn — and this version of the Warlock is uniquely sadistic, even by Diablo standards.

The cinematic was unveiled at IGN Live during a special panel featuring Nan Jiang, Lead Class Designer for Diablo Immortal, and Matthew Cederquist, Senior Producer for Diablo II: Resurrected. It introduces the Warlock’s entrance into Sanctuary and the infernal pact that gives them their terrifying edge.

The update doesn’t stop at a new class either. Players can also look forward to exploring Lut Gholein — a long-awaited new region — diving into a fresh mainline questline, and taking on three new Helliquary bosses designed to push even the most seasoned Sanctuary veterans to their limits.

What Makes the Warlock Special?

The Warlock isn’t just another caster. This class is built around a savage loop of summoning, commanding, and devouring demons — a playstyle that blends ranged magic with raw infernal chaos. Here’s what sets them apart:

Command the Battlefield — Switch fluidly between ranged spellcaster and full-on demon commander, summoning and directing demons to control every encounter on your terms.

Devour to Evolve — The Warlock’s signature companion, the Soulgorger, is with you from level one. It consumes demons mid-battle, absorbing their power in real time to grow progressively stronger the longer a fight goes on.

Weaponise Chaos — The Warlock’s infernal magic is powered by rage, making it volatile and unpredictable — which, honestly, just makes it more fun to use.

Build Without Limits — Stack demon summons, hell magic, and the Soulgorger’s devour mechanic with Legendary Gems and gear to engineer a truly custom build. The synergy potential here looks deep.

The class identity is clear: the Warlock doesn’t just fight demons — they own them. The line “Hell Obeys Me!” from the cinematic sums it up perfectly.

What’s Coming in the 5.0 Major Update?

Alongside the Warlock, the 5.0 update brings some of the biggest content drops Diablo Immortal has seen in recent memory. A brand-new questline continues the game’s evolving story in Sanctuary, the beloved Lut Gholein region finally makes its Immortal debut (a welcome nod for long-time series fans), and three new Helliquary raid bosses are set to give endgame players a serious challenge.

Full update details are expected on June 16 — just one day before launch — so keep your eyes peeled.
