HBO Max’s October DC Lineup Is Packed — Here’s Everything Dropping

Lanterns broke records the moment it landed on HBO Max, and now that its record-setting run is wrapping up, the streamer isn’t wasting a second. October is shaping up to be one of the busiest months yet for DC fans, with a stacked slate spanning animation, streaming originals, and a brand-new theatrical release.

Why Lanterns Became Such a Big Deal?

Before diving into what’s next, it’s worth noting just how much Lanterns has already accomplished. The series pulled in 9.3 million views in its first three days, a new record for DC Studios. Following Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate strange happenings in small-town Nebraska, the show became one of HBO Max’s most-watched originals almost instantly.

What to Expect From Each Release

Krypto Saves the Day! continues the mischievous super-dog’s antics with appearances from Supergirl, Lobo, and even Lex Luthor, though it’s worth noting the show isn’t canon to Gunn’s mainline DCU. Batwheels Season 3 ramps up its Gotham-set adventures with new vehicles and returning villains like Joker and Harley Quinn.

The Lanterns finale is expected to be the biggest event of the month, finally answering who’s behind Hal Jordan’s mysterious death in the show’s 2026 timeline. Meanwhile, Get Jiro brings a wildly different tone to DC, adapting Anthony Bourdain’s dystopian graphic novel about a culinary underworld ruled by rival chefs.

Rounding out the month is Clayface, DC Studios’ first horror film and third mainline DCU theatrical release. Starring Tom Rhys Harries as a disfigured actor turned monster, the R-rated body-horror flick promises to be the franchise’s most intense outing yet.

Conclusion

This lineup shows just how aggressively James Gunn’s DCU is expanding across formats — animation, prestige television, and horror-tinged theatrical releases all landing within weeks of each other. It’s a clear signal that DC Studios wants a constant presence across platforms rather than long gaps between major releases.
