Haiwaan Sinks at Box Office: Akshay-Saif Thriller Manages Just Rs 8.75 Crore in Week One

Bollywood’s box office had high hopes riding on Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan sharing screen space, but Haiwaan has turned out to be a tough watch — for the makers, at least. The psychological action thriller wrapped its opening week with a nett collection of just Rs 8.75 crore, a number that barely moves the needle for a film starring two of Hindi cinema’s biggest names.

The trouble started early. Day 1 opened at Rs 2.50 crore, and instead of building momentum, the film kept sliding — a pattern common with psychological thrillers that fail to generate word-of-mouth buzz. By the second weekday, poor reviews had already caught up with it, and collections nosedived into decimals by midweek.
