GTA 6 Release Date 

Rockstar Games is the company that created Grand Theft Auto. At first, it was confirmed that the “next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway” in February 2022 in their official post. In this post, we have made an announcement about the community updates across GTA V but concluded with a subtle note about the franchise’s future.

After this, in June 2022, Rockstar Games unblocked an official statement stating they’re investing all their resources towards the development of GTA VI. It has reflected the developers’ seriousness towards the GTA franchise.  

The famous GTA leaker,  Chris Klippel, holds additional information about the GTA 6 launch date.  Klippel has confirmed that  GTA 6 is not going to release before the last months of 2024.

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier also opened up this release window in a separate Twitter thread. By keeping those speculations and the lack of official announcements in mind, we believe that GTA 6 will be released in late 2024 or early 2025. 

According to Per Tez2, a  trusty resource of information, when it comes to Rockstar Games titles, it has been believed that it might occur during the GTA 5 10-year anniversary.  On May 17, 2023, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games will hold its financial earnings call.

So, as per a recent investor call by Take-Two Interactive, the highly anticipated release of GTA 6 is expected to occur within the 2025 Fiscal year. The company disclosed that active development for the next installment is currently in progress and is set to enter its next phase of growth in Fiscal 2025. However, it is important to note that release dates are subject to potential changes. 

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be Delayed? 

GTA 6 has also become the victim of the other AAA video game title’s development. GTA 6: Characters

 GTA 6 will reportedly contain a female protagonist named Lucia. She is going to join a  male lead called Jason. It makes Lucia the first playable female character in GTA’s history. This also means that Grand Theft Auto will have two main characters that will likely progress through the story together. 

Recently, Bloomberg’s report on Rockstar’s changing company claimed that this playable female character is a Latina. It seems that the couple will be possibly very stylized in Bonnie and Clyde’s . For those unaware, B&C was an American criminal couple notorious for their bank robberies. For this reason, the characters will most likely work in tandem for the storyline and might even have a shared inventory.

The character artist Hossein Diba has just compiled leaked GTA 6 gameplay and created a 3D render as he thinks what the character will look like.  

GTA 6 Story or Plotline

GTA 6 Gameplay and Graphics 

Talking about the gameplay mechanics of GTA 6 is hard at this point because of the lack of official announcements. So while Rockstar hasn’t provided any trailers, we do have some insights from the previously leaked gameplay footage. 

Movement, Driving, and new items 

In this GTA 6, we are going to get the latest movement and driving mechanics. There are several characters, and the protagonists are now moving with more fluency and natural gait. As a successor to GTA 5, you will understand that the movement sometimes felt downright clunky.

Rockstar has also unlocked the latest gameplay mechanics as the strength to carry bodies. In this the characters can now also crawl and go prone instead of plain crouching. We also see new items like painkillers, lockpicks, USB drives, and more. However, some things have been adopted from previous iterations including the GTA V weapon wheel that slows down time during selection. 

Revamped Police 

Recently, some leaked footage has now suspended the leaker account and also shows modified AI behaviour in GTA 6 police.  The deleted video has now shown a Vice City officer hiding while trying to approach Lucia. After this, he stood and walked when near a safe distance. It seems that the enemy AI in GTA 6 is going to be smarter and apparently more hostile toward Lucia and Jason. 

GTA 6 police might get a new spawn mechanic where the AI waits for a timed countdown before entering the crime scene.

GTA 6 September 2022 Leak

In September 2022, the footage leak and leakers confirmed that GTA 6 will initially be exclusive for PC and next-gen consoles. There is one such deleted Reddit leak that suggests that GTA 6 will be exclusive only for PS6, though there is less ground for this statement. But currently, GTA 5’s performance drop in last-gen consoles and recent GTA Online updates laments that Grand Theft Auto 6 has a high chance to go for these new-gen devices.

GTA 6 Supported Platforms 

The gaming industry has changed drastically within the decade-long gap between GTA 6 and GTA 5. Going by the company’s previous pattern, we expect the GTA VI to have an initial release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This means that older-gen consoles like the PS4 just might not get the game. There is a good opportunity that GTA VI will be exclusive to PS5 and not be available for PS4 users. 

Moreover, like GTA 5, Rockstar Games is set to release GTA 6 in 2024 and fans can expect a trailer and gameplay reveal later this year. The PC users will be able to reach GTA 6 in late 2025 or early 2026. For context, GTA 5 was released on consoles in 2013 and on PC in 2015.
