Google Pixel 8 Series Design and Specifications Revealed Ahead of Official Launch

The Google Pixel 8 series, consisting of the standard Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro, is gearing up for an official unveiling on October 4 at the ‘Made by Google’ event. Google has already offered glimpses of these upcoming devices, providing a sneak peek into their design aspects.

Preceding leaks and reports have already shed light on some key specifications of the forthcoming Pixel series smartphones. Recently, new renders have surfaced online, providing insights into the potential designs and color choices of these smartphones. At first glance, it appears that there may be little alteration to the overall design compared to last year’s Pixel 7 series.

All About the Upcoming Google Pixel 8 Series

MySmartPrice has unveiled renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. According to the report, the standard Pixel 8 will be available in shades of gray, obsidian black, and peony rose. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to come in black obsidian, porcelain, and sky blue color options.

These renders showcase the rear designs of the Pixel 8 series, featuring a familiar visor-style camera arrangement. The standard model seems to sport dual rear cameras, while the Pixel 8 Pro boasts a triple-camera setup arranged horizontally on the camera island. The camera bar also houses a microphone and an LED flash. These designs bear a striking resemblance to their predecessors, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The former was available in Lemongrass, Obsidian, and Snow colors, while the Pro variant came in Obsidian, Snow, and Hazel finishes.

Google’s fall Pixel launch event is scheduled for October 4 in New York at 10:00 AM local time (7:30 PM IST). In addition to the Pixel 8 series, Google will also introduce the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro at the ‘Made by Google’ event. These smartphones are set to be available for pre-orders in India via Flipkart, starting from October 5.

The Pixel 8 series smartphones are expected to come with Android 14 and feature displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. They are rumored to be powered by a Tensor G3 SoC. Furthermore, the Pixel 8 Pro is anticipated to house a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired fast charging. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 is likely to feature a 4,485mAh battery with 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging capabilities.
