What if your fitness tracker had no screen at all? That is the idea behind the Google Fitbit Air, which has now arrived in India. Priced at Rs 13,999, this tiny, screen-free band tracks your health around the clock and sends everything to your phone. Here is what you get, and who it is really for.

What Does the Fitbit Air Track?

Even without a screen, the Air covers the essentials. It offers 24/7 heart rate monitoring, heart rhythm detection with Afib alerts, SpO2 readings and heart rate variability. It also tracks sleep stages and duration and detects activities automatically. All the data goes to the Google Health app, where you can check trends on your phone.

Design: A Pebble in a Band

The Air is a small, pebble-shaped module that clips into a swappable band. Three band styles are available, and the Performance Loop comes in the box. Because there is no display, it is light and easy to forget on your wrist, which suits people who sleep with a tracker or dislike bulky watches. Why It Is Getting Attention in India

Grok’s summary of posts on X says early users like the distraction-free approach, comparing it to Whoop-style passive tracking. One user said they found a replacement strap on Amazon for less than Rs 450 and called it more comfortable than the original. These are social posts and not formal reviews, so treat them as early impressions.

Not everyone is happy with the price, though. Android Central’s headline says buyers “won’t like the pricing” in India, showing that Rs 13,999 is a lot for a device with no screen. If you want notifications, call alerts or a watch face, a smartwatch is a better fit.

Who Should Buy the Fitbit Air?

It is best for people who care about sleep and heart data but do not want another screen. Fitness beginners, light sleepers and anyone tired of constant buzzing alerts may enjoy it. Heavy gym users who want on-wrist workout stats may prefer a watch. Browse more wearables in our fitness tracker news.

What We Know and What We Do Not

Confirmed: the price, the October 2 availability, the sensors, battery claims, colours and Premium trial. Not yet known: long-term accuracy compared with rivals, and whether features beyond the trial need a paid subscription. Independent reviews will help answer those questions.

Battery claims are based on default settings, so real-world life may vary depending on how often it syncs and which features you use. If you are curious, wait for a few detailed reviews before spending Rs 13,999.

Value for money will decide its fate. The Google Fitbit Air India price of Rs 13,999 is close to what many buyers pay for a basic smartwatch with a bright display, so the Air needs to prove that screen-free tracking is worth it. Its small size, long battery and swappable bands are strong selling points, and the Premium trial lets new owners explore deeper health insights before paying anything extra.

Accessories could also help. Third-party straps are already appearing online at low prices, which makes it easy to change the look of the tracker for the office, the gym or a wedding without buying a new device.
