To rescue her daughter and the other missing children before they vanish forever, she transforms into a powerful, almost mythical force of revenge.

The film’s title comes from Gandhari, the powerful character from the Mahabharata — the queen of Hastinapur and wife of the blind King Dhritarashtra, described as the woman who chose to cover her eyes with a blindfold after her marriage. Production Timeline

The project was announced on September 10, 2024 by Netflix with Kanika Dhillon as writer and producer. Principal photography began on December 18, 2024, when Taapsee Pannu posted images from the first day of her shoot on her Instagram account. Filming was wrapped up on March 17, 2025, after 50 days of location shoot in and around Mumbai and Maharashtra.

Where to Watch

Gandhari will be available to stream globally from September 3, 2026 on Netflix. The film is a direct-to-OTT release and will not have a theatrical run.
