Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Teased as Thinnest Foldable Yet

Samsung is preparing for the launch of its Galaxy Z Fold 7, with two official teasers already out. As far as the thickness of the design goes, the latest teaser showcases just its silhouette, but Samsung claims that it is “thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet.” While the teaser only shows a silhouette, it offers a clearer view than before. At any rate, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be Samsung’s flagship foldable when it releases, and the product is linked with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, as per the FCC listing.

The book-style folding mechanism is well illustrated in a short teaser from Samsung, demonstrating how thin the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is. At present, it does not have specific measurements, but considering the previous ones, our foldable device would be thinner. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 6.04 x 2.68 x 0.48 inches when closed and 6.04 x 5.22 x 0.22 inches when open.

Accompanying the teaser, Samsung shared in a blog post that its engineers and designers have been consistently refining the Galaxy Z series to make each model thinner, lighter, and more durable. The company says this ongoing effort has “reached a milestone” with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung is also teasing an ‘Ultra’ experience for the upcoming foldable, although it remains unclear whether this will affect its official naming.

According to the FCC listing, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm’s flagship mobile processor. The phone is also expected to feature a 200MP primary camera, a significant upgrade from the 50MP sensor on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. On the software side, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely launch with Android 16-based One UI 8, making it one of the first smartphones to ship with the latest Android version. The foldable is also tipped to pack a 4,272mAh battery, slightly smaller than the Z Fold 6’s 4,400mAh unit, while maintaining 25W fast charging.
