The Setup: A Town, a Murder, and a Girl Who Wouldn’t Let It Go
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is part coming-of-age tale and part murder mystery, hitting all the tones of whimsy, comfort, dread, and terror. The story centres on Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers), a driven, sharp teenager in her final year of high school in the small British town of Little Kilton. Five years before the story begins, popular teenager Andie Bell was murdered — and her boyfriend, Sal Singh, was blamed after his phone sent a confessional text message, followed by what appeared to be his suicide. Though Pip refuses to believe Sal was a murderer, she begins looking into the case with the help of Sal’s little brother, Ravi Singh, starting with simple interviews that spiral into dangerous, drug-fuelled parties, family secrets, and illicit affairs simmering beneath Little Kilton’s surface.
What Actually Happened: The Full Season 1 Truth
The deeper Pip digs, the more she realises the official version of events is riddled with lies. Here’s what was really going on beneath Little Kilton’s polished surface.
Andie Bell’s real killer — Becca Bell. Pip uncovers that Andie was killed by her sister, Becca, after a confrontation about Andie selling date rape drugs that were used to assault Becca. During the fight, Becca pushes Andie, causing the already-injured girl to fall and choke on her own vomit. Becca then leaves her to die and hides the body in a septic tank. TV Insider
The reason Andie was already injured — Mr. Ward. Pip finds out that Andie was secretly dating Elliot Ward, her English teacher and the father of her best friend, Cara. He had assaulted her before the confrontation with Becca took place.
Who really killed Sal Singh — also Mr. Ward. Mr. Ward drugs Sal, smothers him, and stages the scene to make it look like Sal died by suicide out of guilt — all to direct suspicion away from himself and his illicit relationship with his underage student. TV Insider
Pip nearly doesn’t make it. Pip is also nearly killed by Becca after being drugged, but Ravi and Cara save her using a tracking app. It is a terrifyingly close call that makes the finale utterly gripping. TV Insider
Pip’s senior capstone project ultimately leads to the arrest of Mr. Ward, Becca, and Max — a dangerous assailant who had also assaulted Becca — and the season ends with Pip sharing a kiss with Ravi. Yahoo!

What’s Different About Pip in Season 2
As Pip embarks on yet another investigation in Season 2, her character is a lot more steely and resolved. While she was testing the waters in Season 1, Pip is now more aware of what she is capable of — more willing to bend the rules, which makes her much darker and adds real tension to the plot. CBR
Season 2 is based on the second novel, Good Girl, Bad Blood, and picks up right where things left off. Pippa and Ravi will be seen on a quest to solve a new mystery when someone close to her goes missing. The new case centres on Jamie (Eden H. Davies), whose disappearance pulls Pip back into detective mode even as she is still processing the trauma of Season 1.
New cast addition Jack Rowan joins as Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbour who gets drawn into the investigation. And in a significant creative development, Holly Jackson herself will be co-writing the script for the new season along with Cogan, meaning Season 2 will be very faithful to the novel. CBR
