What Is Free Bert About?
Free Bert stars Bert Kreischer as a fictional version of himself — a stuntman fired from his Jackass-type TV show after bad-mouthing the show’s executives on a hot mic. Thanks to the chaos that follows him, his family isn’t thrilled to have him back home. After trying to help his daughter through a cyberbullying situation, Bert finds himself up against the most powerful family at his daughter’s elite private school.
It’s essentially Bert Kreischer’s real-life persona cranked up to full comedic volume — loud, lovable, and completely unfiltered.
Why Netflix Pulled the Trigger on Season 2
The series appeared on Netflix’s global Top 10 list for two weeks, reaching 6th place, and amassed 6.9 million views in its first two weeks on the platform. That kind of early traction is hard to ignore, and Netflix clearly felt the show had a loyal audience worth investing in further.
On the renewal, showrunners Jarrad Paul and Andy Mogel expressed they were “incredibly grateful to Netflix for believing in this show and giving us the chance to continue the freeing of Bert.” whats-on-netflix
When Can We Expect Free Bert Season 2?
Filming is expected to get underway in Atlanta, Georgia at some point in 2026. If production wraps before August 2026, fans could see the new season arrive on Netflix before the end of 2026 — otherwise, an early 2027 release is more likely. whats-on-netflix
The full returning cast — including Arden Myrin, Ava Ryan, Lilou Lang, and Mandell Maughan — are all expected back for Season 2.
