Top 10 Most Expensive football and sporting memorabilia items of all-time

Lionel Messi’s shirt at the 2022 World Cup is set to become the most expensive football memorabilia of all-time, with an eye-watering price of £8 million to be bid for at an auction.

Before Messi, “Diego Maradona’s ‘The Hand of God’ & ‘Goal of the Century’ World Cup Match Worn Shirt” held two Guinness World Records after managing the auction price of £7,142,500 ($8,958,124). Here we are talking about some of the all-time top most expensive items of football and sporting memorabilia.

Sporting memorabilia is one of the favourite collections for sports fans. Many sporting fans are ready to spend huge lucrative amounts to get their favourite sporting memorabilia, even without worrying about the present condition of those.

Recently, legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona’s no.10 national team shirt during a quarter-final of the 1986 World Cup was sold for the record price of £7,142,500 ($8,958,124). After that online auction, that shirt became the most expensive football (soccer) shirt sold at auction as well as the most expensive sports memorabilia sold at auction.
