Flipkart BBD Motorola Deals: Are These ‘Discounts’ on Edge 70 and Signature Real?

Flipkart BBD Motorola Deals: Flipkart has revealed its Big Billion Days pricing for Motorola’s smartphone lineup, and on paper the discounts look generous. But a closer look at what these phones were actually selling for just weeks earlier tells a very different story — one where “sale price” and “regular price” are, in several cases, exactly the same number.

Comparing BBD “Deals” to Actual Recent Prices

Here’s where things get interesting. Flipkart ran its Freedom Sale on these same Motorola phones only weeks before Big Billion Days, and the pricing from that event is still publicly documented. Lining the two up side by side shows just how little has actually moved.

Rather than a fresh markdown for India’s biggest shopping event of the year, the Motorola Signature and Edge 70 Fusion are actually being sold at Flipkart for more than they were during the previous sale, while the Edge 70 Pro hasn’t moved a single rupee. The Edge 70 Fusion’s ₹29,999 BBD price also lines up almost exactly with the phone’s own launch-era pricing for the 8GB+256GB variant, meaning many shoppers won’t be getting a genuine year-end discount at all — just a “Sale” badge slapped on business-as-usual pricing.

Flipkart BBD Motorola Deals: Why This Keeps Happening

This isn’t unique to Motorola or even to Flipkart. Indian e-commerce platforms have a long history of inflating a product’s displayed MRP just before a sale event, then “discounting” it back down to something close to the actual selling price — creating the appearance of a deal without the substance of one. Big Billion Days and similar sale events do still carry genuine markdowns on select models and variants, particularly older stock that retailers want to clear, but the Motorola lineup this year is a useful reminder to check price history before assuming a “Sale” tag means real savings.

Shoppers eyeing any of these five Motorola phones would do well to track the price over the past month using a price-history tool before hitting buy, rather than trusting the strikethrough price shown on the product page.
