Final Table: Ahn Hyo Seop vs. Chang Ryul in a Fiery Korean Chef Showdown, Premiering Oct 24

Two chefs, one kitchen, and a rivalry that’s been simmering for years. The upcoming cooking drama Final Table has teased the clash between Ahn Hyo Seop and Chang Ryul, and the contrast between their characters looks like the perfect recipe for drama. Here’s what we know.

Final Table: Overview

Final Table: The Premise

Final Table follows talented Korean chefs from around the world who gather for The Table: K-Chef 2026, a high-stakes survival competition to crown the best Korean chef. It’s a fresh setting that blends the pressure of a cooking contest with the personal stakes of a drama, and the chefs’ backgrounds shape how they approach the stove. Fans of Korean cuisine should enjoy seeing it treated as a serious competitive art.

Kang Han: The Free-Spirited Genius

Ahn Hyo Seop plays Kang Han, head chef of the restaurant Familia. He’s a genius who has mastered cuisines from around the world through natural aesthetic sensibility and an exceptional ability to learn. His free-spirited personality even leads him to relocate every year. As a result, his cooking isn’t tied to one style. It draws on culinary techniques from many countries, giving his food a distinctive character.

Cha Woo Jin: The Perfectionist Prodigy

Chang Ryul plays Cha Woo Jin, who was raised as a culinary prodigy with the backing of Pyungyeon Group. After graduating from a prestigious culinary school, he became head chef of Exception, one of the country’s top restaurants. He’s a perfectionist who makes no mistakes, and his meticulously practiced cooking is elaborate and formal. Where Kang Han improvises, Woo Jin polishes.

Why the Rivalry Works1?

On paper, the two are polar opposites in personality and style. Yet both are fiercely passionate about cooking and obsessive about the smallest details of flavor. They also have history: they once competed in an international cooking competition, where Kang Han took first place and Cha Woo Jin came second. That past adds fuel to the new contest, and viewers will be curious how they fare this time. Each will present inventive dishes that reflect his own identity, interpreting the same theme in his own way.
