What the Cast Said: Fifties Professionals Favourite Scenes & Final Thoughts

Shin Ha Kyun

Shin Ha Kyun reflected warmly on the set experience, expressing hope that the fun atmosphere among the cast and crew came through clearly to viewers, and sincerely thanked fans for staying until the very end.

For his standout scene, he chose the rain-soaked action sequence on the deck of a ship featuring himself, Oh Jung Se, and Heo Sung Tae — the very scene that kicked off the entire story. He acknowledged it wasn’t easy to film in the rain, but said its role as the dramatic starting point made it especially unforgettable.

Oh Jung Se

Oh Jung Se gave heartfelt credit to the production staff, noting that with so many demanding action scenes throughout the drama, the team consistently filled in the gaps whenever his body didn’t cooperate the way he needed it to.

His most memorable scene was Bong Je Soon’s martial arts sequence at the Heaven Casino in Episode 1 — a moment he said still fills him with fresh gratitude every time he watches the finished result.

Heo Sung Tae

Heo Sung Tae described the experience as both a delight and an honour, drawing a touching parallel between his character Kang Beom Ryong — a man who had never properly known love or family before forming new bonds on the show — and his own personal growth throughout the filming process. soompi

Kim Shin Rok

Kim Shin Rok expressed genuine happiness at being part of Kang Young Ae’s story, signing off with a warm message saying she would be cheering on both the show’s viewers and the residents of Yeongseon Island going forward.

Lee Hak Joo

Lee Hak Joo reflected on his character Ma Gong Bok — a figure who endured significant pain before ultimately discovering his own happiness through the people around him. He noted that in playing this role, he too experienced that same joy, and thanked viewers for laughing and crying alongside the cast each week.

Why Fifties Professionals Deserves Your Attention

Beyond the action sequences and comedic timing, what made Fifties Professionals resonate was its human core — characters past their prime who still had everything to learn about connection, family, and second chances. That’s the kind of storytelling that Korean drama does better than almost anywhere else in the world, and this series delivered it with real conviction.
