Previously, on FIFA catching up with friends was a tiresome job because one had to add them as friends on Origin or the EA Desktop app and had to invite them manually. To ease this issue, EA Sports has addressed it definitively this time with FIFA 23 as there is a dedicated pane to add friends or even play with your existing friends.
The option to go to Social remains the same, tap on the R2 button on your controller to open or close and you will see a wide range of options. This is a huge revamp for those who have been playing the game via Origin until now as you will see your both offline and online friends that have already been carried forward from your FIFA 22 data.
As you head to the social page there are even options like Game Invites to simplify the invites you get from your friends or vice versa. Also, there is a separate Friends Requests corner to add a friend you have known or even search a player using the id or say if you have liked playing with someone unknown met during any game, you would go to the Recently met section.
There are a lot of new Social options as you see and are present in-game that makes it easier to add or play with friends even who are playing on different platforms. So, any friend of yours who has a PlayStation can simultaneously play with you even if you are playing on a PC. We are still testing how good Cross-Play is this time, but surely we will bring more content on this!
