Ferran Torres to Barcelona: Man City reach agreement for €55m fee

Ferran Torres is all set to join Barcelona during the winter transfer window. The Spanish giants have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the winger. 

Club director Mateu Alemany and CEO Ferran Reverter had travelled to England to try and complete the deal. However, City were not willing to budge on their demands. Now, an agreement has been reached between the two parties for a transfer. 

The deal is expected to be worth €55 million total, which will be paid over a period of five years. €45 million of the total amount is fixed, with €10 million in variables. According to reports in England, the deal could rise to €70 million if further bonuses are met. 

The deal for Ferran Torres has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that the transfer is as good as done. Barcelona are now working to announce the deal.

What are Barcelona getting by signing Ferran Torres? 

Torres is going to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona in the upcoming hours. He has always been the priority for Xavi Hernandez and the manager is now set to get the player he wants. 

Torres joined Manchester City in 2020, and has been very impressive under Pep Guardiola. The 21-year-old has the ability to play out wide, as well as be a striker due to his remarkable finishing ability. 

Barcelona have struggled to score the important goals this season, and the arrival of Torres will aim to solve that problem.
