Fernando Torres set to come out of retirement

Fernando Torres is set to come out of retirement to play football once again. That is according to the man himself, as announced on his social media platforms. The 37-year-old posted the following message:

“I only understand one way of life; playing,” he wrote. “That’s why I’ve decided to return.” On Friday, he said, he’ll explain the full story, whetting appetites to discover his plans.

The player hung up his boots playing for Sagan Tosu, last playing in Europe for Atletico Madrid where he began his career. After an initial four years with the Rojiblancos, the striker moved to Liverpool and subsequently, the infamous transfer to Chelsea albeit winning the 2012 Champions League trophy with them.

Since retiring from professional football, El Nino has been involved with Atletico Madrid’s academy. He has been coaching the B team, and has also used this time to build up a sturdy physique. The striker was remembered in his prime as being a fast and lean striker, but his profile and his body shape has changed completely now.
