Farzi Season 2 Is Official, Filming Has Begun & Shahid Kapoor Promises a ‘Level Up’

The fakers are back at it — and this time, the stakes are national. At Amazon Prime Video’s It Starts Here 2026 slate event in Mumbai, Farzi Season 2 was officially confirmed as “coming soon” — with filming already underway under directors Raj & DK, and first-look posters of Shahid Kapoor’s Sunny and Vijay Sethupathi’s Michael released. Three years after Season 1 took Indian OTT by storm, the most anticipated sequel is finally real.

Farzi Season 2 — All the Key Details

What Is Farzi Season 2 About?

The story sees Sunny diving deeper into the world of crime, while Michael continues his relentless fight against counterfeiting — even after being stripped of institutional support — setting up a high-stakes face-off that could shake India’s financial system to its core.

One of the most intriguing updates is the introduction of a mysterious new antagonist — a “hidden force” capable of destabilising India’s entire economic system, elevating the show from a personal cat-and-mouse rivalry to a full-blown national-level crisis. This is not just a continuation. It’s a bold, dangerous escalation.

Shahid Kapoor Waited Two Years for This

Shahid Kapoor said at the announcement: “I’ve been waiting to start Season 2 for the last two years, and I’m so excited that it’s finally happening.” He described the new season as a complete “level up” from Season 1 — and for a show that already set the benchmark for Indian OTT crime thrillers, that’s a bold promise.

Farzi Season 1 premiered on February 10, 2023 and became the most-watched Hindi web series of 2023, drawing an audience of nearly 37.1 million viewers in its first year alone. Season 2 inherits those expectations — and appears fully ready to exceed them.

Industry sources also suggest Shahid Kapoor commands his highest-ever fee for Season 2, with estimates ranging between ₹40 crore and ₹45 crore — reflecting both his explosive OTT growth and the platform’s confidence in the franchise .
