Millie Bobby Brown is back with her deerstalker instincts, but this time the trail leads from foggy London to the sunny shores of Malta. Does the third chapter of Netflix’s beloved detective saga still crack the case, or does it lose the plot along the way? Here’s the honest verdict.

What’s Enola Holmes 3 This Time?

With new director Philip Barantini stepping in for franchise veteran Harry Bradbeer, Enola Holmes 3 swaps cobblestone London for Mediterranean shores. Sherlock (Henry Cavill) is kidnapped, Dr. Watson (Himesh Patel) joins the cast, and Enola’s wedding to Tewkesbury takes center stage alongside the mystery.

Aspect	Details
Rating	3/5 stars
Director	Philip Barantini (new to the franchise)
Setting	Malta, Mediterranean
New Cast	Himesh Patel as Dr. Watson
Standout Performer	Himesh Patel (MVP)
Verdict	Watchable, but the weakest entry so far

The Good, The Meh, and The Missed Opportunity

Patel’s Watson is a genuine bright spot, bringing quiet dignity without copying past interpretations of the character. But the film stumbles elsewhere: a slower pace, a script with less bite, and fight scenes that lack the previous films’ creative flair. Worse, Sherlock and Eudoria — the franchise’s secret weapons — get sidelined for wedding drama and a less compelling political subplot involving Maltese independence.

The core problem? Enola Holmes 3 seems to have forgotten what made the first two films click: sharp family chemistry and a mystery that never takes a backseat to romance.

Should You Watch It?

If you’re already invested in the franchise, yes — the cast still delivers, and closure matters. But if you’re new to the series, start with the first two films to see this franchise at its best before landing here.
