The Stories Behind the Numbers

Endgame Encore: Pre-sales are running hot, and while sales alone could point to the mid-teens, momentum suggests Rs 7-8 crore. The Vvaan: Advance booking has made a good start, especially in Bihar, where the Chhath subject helps. The Bihari diaspora in major cities could add to that, and the forecast has been raised accordingly.

Drishyam 3: Easily the heavyweight of the group, and the sequel is expected to be a runaway blockbuster.

Udta Teer: The trailer got a fairly positive response for its comedy, but films in this zone no longer work as they once did, so the hope rests on word of mouth. It also lands in Drishyam 3’s second week.

Jailer 2 (Hindi): The Hindi version of the 2023 Kollywood hit has a floor of roughly the opening of Coolie (Hindi), which opened at Rs 4.25 crore nett last year. Its reach depends on whether it gets national chain screens.
