Avengers: Doomsday Finally Shows Us Loki, God of Stories

Fans have waited a long time for this. A new Korean poster for Avengers: Doomsday has quietly delivered the first official look at Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in his God of Stories form, and it’s hiding in plain sight.

Where to Spot Him?

Look behind Gambit in the back left corner. Loki wears his golden horned crown and green outfit, with his hands raised as if he’s casting a spell or bending reality itself. Front and centre, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom looms over a stacked hero lineup.

Avengers: Doomsday – Overview

Two Lokis, One Big Question

Here’s the twist. Loki doesn’t only show up as the God of Stories. The July trailer showed him in a TVA jacket, handing out a business card with the multiverse’s World Tree on it. The Endgame Encore ending then added a scene of him knocking on Steve and Peggy’s door in full TVA gear to offer help.

So how can he be on the throne at the end of time and out in the field too? Marvel hasn’t said yet. It’s the kind of puzzle that keeps fans arguing for months.

Why Doom Needs Loki?

At the end of Loki Season 2, he became the force holding the multiverse’s branches together. That makes him a huge target. One popular theory says Doom will hit the TVA, and the Encore post-credits scene, which shows thousands of Incursions and the line “the multiverse is collapsing”, points the same way. Another suggests Doom wants Loki’s power for himself.

Hiddleston has joked that he’s literally holding the timelines together, so it’s hard to argue that Loki isn’t central here.

The Reunion Marvel Is Hiding

Marvel has kept any Thor and Loki reunion out of the footage so far. Given everything these brothers have been through, that’s probably the emotional moment the studio is saving for theatres. And since Loki has died more than once already, a lot of fans are bracing for heartbreak.
