Emily in Paris Season 5 Details

When Does Emily in Paris Season 5 Premiere?

All 10 episodes of Emily in Paris Season 5 arrive globally on Netflix on December 18, 2025. Unlike Season 4’s split release, the entire season drops at once—perfect for a holiday binge-watching marathon.

What Happens in Season 5?

As head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges while adapting to life in a new city. The official synopsis teases that just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires with devastating consequences.

A big secret threatens one of Emily’s closest relationships, forcing her to tackle conflict with honesty. Will she stay in Rome with Marcello, or will Gabriel’s last-minute epiphany pull her back to Paris?

The season promises to be “a tale of two cities,” with Emily straddling both Rome and Paris, taking love and life to the next level.

The New Trailer and First-Look Photos

The one-minute teaser showcases Emily opening windows of her charming Roman apartment and explores several romantic moments with Italian beau Marcello. The stunning visuals feature Emily cruising through Venice’s iconic canals, exploring Roman ruins, and attending lavish boat parties.

First-look photos reveal Emily’s signature bold fashion choices against breathtaking Italian backdrops, proving that even across borders, her style remains unmistakably chic.

Who’s Returning for Season 5?

The main cast returns including Lily Collins as Emily, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, and Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello. Also back are Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount.

New additions include Oscar-nominated actress Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie’s who married into royalty, Bryan Greenberg as Jake, an American expat living in Paris, and Michèle Laroque as Yvette, one of Sylvie’s oldest friends.

Notably absent is Camille Razat, who confirmed in April 2025 that she won’t return for Season 5.

The Gabriel Love Triangle Continues

Gabriel realized too late in Season 4 that he wanted to be with Emily after all. But with Emily now in Rome pursuing a romance with Marcello, can Gabriel win her back?

Lily Collins expressed excitement about exploring Emily’s relationship with Marcello, who represents a better work-life balance and allows Emily to “smile without condition”. The Italian romance arrives at the perfect time for Emily’s personal growth.

Behind the Scenes

Filming began in May 2025 and wrapped in mid-August, taking place primarily in Paris with additional shooting in Rome and Venice. Production briefly paused in late August following the sudden death of assistant director Diego Borella on set, but resumed shortly after as the cast and crew honored his memory.

Actor Lucien Laviscount teased that Season 5 “goes left, so far left, and a little bit right,” promising shocking developments nobody saw coming.

Why Season 5 Marks a New Chapter

Creator Darren Star wanted to “stay ahead of the audience and take them to unexpected places,” proving the show has the ability to expand beyond Paris. The Italian setting represents Emily’s evolution from wide-eyed American expat to confident international businesswoman.

Despite the location change, Star confirmed Emily will maintain a presence in both Rome and Paris, so the show’s name isn’t changing. Expect plenty of back-and-forth between the two iconic European cities.

How to Watch

Emily in Paris Season 5 streams exclusively on Netflix starting December 18, 2025. All previous seasons (1-4) are currently available for streaming, perfect for a complete series rewatch before the new season drops.
