Sivasakthi Narayanan : The Inspiring Story of Bengaluru FC’s Emerging Player, ISL 2023

  1. Early Beginnings : Sivasakthi Narayanan’s journey in football began when he was picked up by a local team during trials in Karaikudi. He was scouted by the Raman Vijan Soccer School, where he emerged as the top scorer in the 2018-19 season of Elite League with 22 goals for the club.
  2. Joining Bengaluru FC’s B Team : After his impressive performances, Sivasakthi was picked up by Bengaluru FC’s B team, where he played for the club in the 2020-21 season of Bangalore Super Division league. He emerged as the top goal scorer after scoring 15 goals for the club, including two hat-tricks.
  3. Maiden Call-Up to Senior Team : Sivasakthi Narayanan’s hard work paid off when he received his maiden call-up to the senior team of Bengaluru FC for their AFC Cup campaign in 2021. He made his senior team debut in the game against Bashundhara Kings at the group stage of 2021 AFC Cup and scored his first goal for the club against Maziya S&RC.
  4. Emerging Player of the ISL : Sivasakthi’s impressive performances did not go unnoticed as he was voted as the Emerging Player for this edition of the Indian Super League. The award recognizes the league’s best young player for showing promise and potential over the course of the season, and standing out on the big stage. He has six goals and three assists to his name and has played a significant role in Bengaluru’s journey to the final.

Bengaluru FC coach Simon Grayson has praised him for his ability and natural instinct to score goals, and for being willing to learn and work hard.
