Elden Ring Secret Weapon Locations: 7 Best Hidden Finds

Elden Ring’s secret weapon locations scattered throughout The Lands Between give players unique combat advantages that really shape high-level builds. Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, this action role-playing game offers more than 300 weapons, many of which require some serious exploration to find. Since its release on February 25, 2022, the community has been busy cataloging these hidden gems, ranging from legendary armaments to specialized tools that help you bypass typical progression paths.

Overview of Elden Ring’s Secret Weapons

The locations of Elden Ring’s secret weapons are crucial because they often provide distinct weapon arts or elemental affinities you can’t find in regular shops. These hidden items usually require players to solve environmental puzzles or tackle optional bosses tucked away in the corners of the open world.

Importance of Secret Weapons in Gameplay

Secret weapons let players get creative with unconventional playstyles. While standard weapons typically depend on raw scaling, many hidden armaments come with unique passives that can make tough encounters much easier. Whether you’re after a specific status effect or a distinctive moveset, finding these tools is key to conquering the game’s challenging late-game content.

Types of Secret Weapons Available

The game features a wide array of weapons, including colossal weapons, katanas, and staves that reward thorough exploration. With the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion set to release on June 21, 2024, developers have added eight new weapon categories, like the Dueling Shield and the Backhand Blade. These updates ensure that even seasoned players have fresh secrets to hunt for in the expanded map.

Key Locations for Secret Weapons

If you want to navigate The Lands Between to find these items, you’ll need patience and a sharp eye for architectural oddities. Some of the most powerful gear gets hidden behind illusory walls or requires specific questline triggers.

Location: Caelid’s Hidden Cave

Caelid hides several treacherous dungeons filled with high-tier weapons. Players often miss the smaller, unnamed tunnels scattered across the rot-infested landscape. Be sure to check the southern cliffside near the Caelid Highway, where a concealed entrance leads to an armory guarded by tough enemies.

Location: Mountaintops of the Giants

The icy peaks of the Mountaintops of the Giants hold some of the game’s most elusive items. You’ll find powerful armament upgrades and specific legendary weapons buried in the snow or protected by giants. Some items only appear after you’ve completed certain main-story objectives.

Location: Leyndell, Royal Capital

Leyndell acts as a dense labyrinth of secrets. Before the city underwent its mid-game transformation, players could explore hidden chambers containing unique blades and shields. A thorough exploration of the capital’s rooftops often uncovers paths to weapons that are otherwise out of reach.

Tips for Finding and Acquiring Weapons

To improve your chances, watch for environmental storytelling. If a room looks empty, search for levers or hidden doors. Most secret weapons don’t just appear; they reward those who dare to look behind every curtain.

As players continue to explore the Shadow of the Erdtree, discovering new secret weapon locations keeps the community engaged. Expect more hidden armaments to emerge as players delve into the furthest reaches of the new map.
