Elden Ring Record: Player Kills Every boss without taking any Damage

After successfully killing every boss in the game without taking any damage during the course of the entire run, a Twitch streamer recently made Elden Ring history. The Elden Ring streamer declared success at the conclusion of a nearly nine-hour-long stream after months of preparation and work.

One of the main reasons why titles like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring have drawn so many players is because of the reputation that FromSoftware’s boss fights have for being unforgivingly challenging. Players enjoy the satisfying process of failing, getting better, and then finally beating each of these boss fights. Even though the encounters in FromSoftware’s games are challenging by design, most players can complete them with practise and perseverance.

Once they’ve mastered a game, players frequently try to push it even further by placing onerous restrictions on it, such as never levelling up, never wearing any equipment, or never utilising healing items. Striking for the coveted no-hit run is one of the most punishing strategies in a game that is similar to Souls.

Twitch broadcaster GinoMachino promised in March that he would finish Elden Ring without taking any blows, and seven months later, he has kept his word.

After a nine-hour stream, his no-hit run came to an end with the Soldier of Godrick, an intriguingly early-game optional boss that players encounter for the first time. This was a “true” no-hit run, which means that GinoMachino has to start again from the beginning if he sustains damage at any stage. Many players prefer to retry bosses until they are defeated without incurring damage in a more forgiving variation of the no-hit run.

Other obstacles have also been conquered by GinoMachino, who earlier this month became the first person to defeat Elden Ring without using any weapons. It is unknown how many optional bosses were faced along the way, but the no-weapons run took 58 hours to complete. Whatever the case, these are impressive victories for an Elden Ring player, and few video game challenges are as satisfying as completing a FromSoftware challenge run.

Like its predecessors, Elden Ring cares just as much about the players as it does about the game’s characters. Legendary Elden Ring players, such as Let Me Solo Her, have developed a following of their own and have sparked fan art, imitators, cosplays, and mods that incorporate the player as an NPC. It will be fascinating to watch what other amazing achievements Elden Ring participants accomplish as the difficulty level increases over time.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
