Eetha Moves to December 4 — Can Shraddha Kapoor Crack Bollywood’s Golden Week?

Shraddha Kapoor fans, mark your calendars again — just not the one you had. Eetha, her much-anticipated follow-up to the blockbuster Stree 2, has been pushed from its original August 28, 2026 date to a fresh release on December 4, 2026. And this new date isn’t random — it puts Eetha right in the middle of Bollywood’s most lucrative release window of the year.

Why December 4 Is a Big Deal for Eetha ?

The first week of December has quietly become Bollywood’s power slot. Think Animal (December 1, 2023), Pushpa 2 (December 5, 2024), and Dhurandhar (December 5, 2025) — all mammoth openers that turned early December into a proven box office goldmine. Eetha, directed by Laxman Utekar and backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is clearly aiming to ride that same wave.

Both Shraddha Kapoor and Laxman Utekar are coming off ₹500 crore-plus hits — Stree 2 and Chhaava, respectively — so expectations are naturally sky-high for their reunion.

The Not-So-Clean Runway

Here’s the catch: Eetha won’t have the December stage to itself.

Four major titles jostling for the same weekend is a recipe for a bruising box office battle. It remains to be seen whether any of these productions will reshuffle dates to avoid a direct pile-up — something that’s become common practice in Bollywood’s increasingly congested release calendar.

What Eetha Is About?

Eetha tells the true story of Tamasha queen Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, with Shraddha Kapoor stepping into an author-backed, performance-driven role. The film also features Randeep Hooda, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub, Anant Joshi, and Siddharth Jadhav in supporting roles — giving it a solid ensemble to lean on beyond star power alone.

Eetha’s move signals real confidence from Maddock Films — they’re betting a genre-driven, story-first film can hold its own in a release week usually reserved for mass-scale spectacles. Whether that confidence pays off depends heavily on how the clash with Fauzi, Ranger, and the Akshay Kumar film ultimately resolves.
