EA FC24: How to do the Base Icon Upgrade SBC and is it worth doing?

Base Icon Upgrade SBC

EA Sports is the well-known developer of the popular football-based video game FIFA. However, EA Sports and FIFA did not continue their partnership after the release of FIFA 23.

Consequently, FIFA 23 was the final game released by EA Sports under the FIFA brand. EA Sports FC has been introduced to replace the football-based video game. EA Sports officially announced the release of EAFC 24. The new video game was released on 29th September 2023.

EA Sports have now introduced a new SBC for the Base Icon Upgrade Pack. It requires 2 squads. As the name suggests you will get a Base Icon without any limit on the max overall unlike previous SBCs.

Team 1: 86-rated squad

• Squad Rating: Min 86
• TOTW players: Min 1
• No of players in the Squad: 11

Team 2: 87-rated squad

• Squad Rating: Min 87
• No of players in the Squad: 11

End Date: 2nd December 2023
Repeatable: Yes
Estimated price: 280,000 FC coins

Is it worth doing the Base Icon Upgrade SBC?

One of the main dilemmas regarding the Icon Upgrade SBCs is whether you will get a good icon as this is not a player pick that you can choose from. If you get some of the best Icons in the game like Ronaldo, Hamm, Ronaldinho, Pele, Zidane, Cantona, etc then this SBC will be worth much more than you spent. But there are some Icons as well which are way below the price of this SBC.

My luck was on my side this time, as I managed to pack 91-rated CM Homare Sawa from Base Icon Upgrade SBC. The card is priced at around 900,000 coins in the transfer market. Let’s look into the details of the card.

The Sawa card can has a High Attacking and High Defensive work rate which makes it an ideal central midfielder. It has 4* skill move and 4* weak foot which is also great. You can also play this card in CAM position.

Almost all the stats of this card are exceptional. It is a well-balanced card with good pace and defending and exceptional dribbling, passing and shooting. It also has some good playstyles.

The 91-rated CM Homare Sawa from Base Icon Upgrade SBC has gone straight into my main team. She has been the powerhouse of my midfield in FUT Champions matches. So the Base Icon Upgrade SBC was absolutely worth it for me this time.

Let us know in the comments below, what you got from the Base Icon Upgrade SBC.
