If you’ve been following the Korean hip-hop scene even loosely, this news has been a long time coming. On March 28, 2026, rapper Dok2 and R&B powerhouse Lee Hi confirmed what many insiders already suspected — they’re in a relationship. And in true power couple fashion, they didn’t just drop the dating news alone. They launched a brand new label with it.

From Collaborators to Couple
It is believed that the two first met while working on their duet song Like, as part of MBC’s Infinite Challenge, which eventually led them to work on multiple projects together.
Their creative chemistry was there from the very beginning. Lee Hi also participated in Dok2’s 28th birthday album Re Born, released in 2017, on the track On & On. From there, the bond deepened quietly and away from the public eye — the kind of love story that grows in studio sessions and late nights.
The couple is believed to have been dating since late 2022, making this their fifth year together. While never openly discussing their romance, the pair had long been considered an open secret in the Korean hip-hop space.
Their story fits beautifully into the broader history of K-pop and Korean hip-hop culture, where real-life collaborations frequently evolve into deeply personal relationships behind closed doors.
808 HI Recordings — Their Joint Label
Right after launching their new company, 808 HI Recordings, Dok2 and Lee Hi released a duo song titled You & Me — a through-and-through R&B hip-hop track capturing their feelings.
The label name itself says everything — 808 (a classic hip-hop drum machine) meets HI (Lee Hi’s name). It’s poetic, personal, and professionally bold.
The K-pop and K-hip-hop community reacted warmly. Rapper Sleepy even commented “Let’s go marriage” on social media after the dating update went public.
