Qualcomm and MediaTek are preparing to debut new flagship offerings, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 in a landscape that is always evolving when talking about mobile chipsets career. For the most part, these processors are mobile kings offering huge improvements over previous solutions when it comes to performance and efficiency delivering a much better user experience.

Dimensity 9400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Architecture and Core Configuration

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Architecture: Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores, with high-performance and low-power cores for speed and efficiency.
Core Configuration: Likely to see a mix of Cortex-X and Cortex-A cores in the core configuration, optimized for power consumption/performance across workloads.

Dimensity 9400

Architecture: An all-performance core design powered by a combination of Cortex-X and Cortex-A series cores together, without including any dedicated efficiency cores.
Core Configuration: Cortex-X5, Cortex-X4, and a quartet of Cortex-A720 cores all target maximum raw performance in the most heavy workloads.

Performance and Benchmarks

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Single-Core Performance: It is expected to score well over 3500 points in GeekBench benchmarks performing much better than previous generations.
Multi-Core Performance: Expected to excel in multi-core tests, leveraging advanced core configurations for enhanced multitasking capabilities.
GPU Performance: Features a high-performance GPU, enhancing graphics rendering and gaming experiences significantly.
Clock Speed: Some reports suggest a maximum of 4.3 GHz of peak clock speed for great processing power.

Dimensity 9400

Single core performance: It is expected to be around 2,700 and we can already see how that translates into real gains for single-threaded jobs.
Multi-core performance: We get a Multi-test score of 9,800 where this chipset usually shows its strength in parallel processing.
Graphics: ARM Immortalis G9xx GPU (probably the G920), higher-level graphics capability, better integration with intensive graphical load.
Efficiency: While it does not have any true blue efficiency cores, MediaTek’s architecture offers a great blend of performance with power efficiency
