Going up against a Spider-Man release would spook most films into a quiet exit. Dhamaal 4 didn’t blink. Ajay Devgn’s comedy franchise entry added Rs 4.65 crore in its fourth weekend, with Rs 2.15 crore coming in on Sunday alone — a surprisingly steady hold for a film in its final theatrical stretch.
The Indra Kumar directorial’s running total now stands at Rs 155.90 crore nett at the Indian box office after 24 days.

On Thursday, when Spider-Man: Brand New Day stormed into theaters, it looked like curtains for Dhamaal 4. Instead, the film held firm through Friday and posted a respectable weekend, keeping its finish line in sight rather than folding under the competition.

A Hit, Even If Not A Blockbuster
Dhamaal 4 is now on track to close its run around the Rs 160 crore nett mark, officially making it a Hit at the box office. That said, given the star cast and the brand recognition the Dhamaal franchise carries, trade watchers note the film likely underperformed its true potential over a full run.
Still, this marks the fourth Hit of the year for Bollywood, joining the ranks of Border 2, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, and Bhooth Bangla. Three of the four are franchise films, while Bhooth Bangla rode on its quasi-Bhool Bhulaiyaa branding. After last year’s chatter around “franchise fatigue,” this year’s numbers suggest audiences haven’t actually turned away from familiar names — they’ve simply gotten pickier about competition and timing.
