Instead of being abruptly cancelled, the show came to a definitive end, bringing closure to the journey of the characters Judy and Jen throughout the 30 episodes.

Dead to Me Season 4- Reason Behind the Ending

The moment Netflix decides not to renew “Dead to Me” for a third season appears to be approaching, as is often the case with most Netflix Originals that typically don’t go beyond two or three seasons. It seems that the show’s performance has shown signs of diminishing returns, leading the creators to choose to end it on a positive note with a satisfactory conclusion.

By speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Feldman already explained the reason reveals only to went on for the 3 seasons saying:

“I always knew that it was going to be a short-lived show. I wanted three or four seasons, but I’m realistic in terms of where the show lives. It lives on a platform that doesn’t traditionally give more than three or four, or sometimes even one or two, seasons. I wanted the ending to feel important and not just, like, “Oh shit, we’re going to get canceled!””

Christina Applegate already echoed those sentiments when the series at first renewed for the final season saying:

” I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans.”

On Twitter on the day of the third season’s release, Liz Feldman set to post her heart gratitude to the fans on the journey.
