With a renewed sense of determination and a revamped squad, the Capitals are poised to turn their fortunes around after a challenging 2024 season.

The Delhi Capitals will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on March 24 against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. This change of venue for their initial matches adds an intriguing element to their season, as they look to establish a strong start away from their traditional home ground.

Speaking of home, Delhi Capitals fans can mark their calendars for April 13, when the team will play their first game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi against the Mumbai Indians. The iconic venue, with its capacity of over 41,000, is set to roar once again as the Capitals aim to make it a fortress in their quest for glory.

The 2025 season brings exciting changes to the Delhi Capitals squad. The team has made some significant acquisitions, including Australian pace sensation Mitchell Starc, secured for a whopping ₹11.75 crore, and the talented English batsman Harry Brook. These additions are expected to bolster both their bowling and batting departments, addressing key areas that needed strengthening after their performance in the previous season.

Perhaps the most intriguing development in the Delhi Capitals camp is the signing of KL Rahul, who was initially expected to take on leadership responsibilities. However, recent reports suggest that Rahul has declined the captaincy role, with all-rounder Axar Patel now tipped to lead the side. This unexpected turn of events adds an element of suspense and excitement as fans eagerly await the official announcement of the team’s captain for IPL 2025.
