Director-turned-actor Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut film, co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi, pulled in another Rs. 6.50 crore on Tuesday, pushing its five-day total to a solid Rs. 36.50 crore gross in India. What makes this run special is the trend: the film is actually posting bigger weekday numbers than its opening day — a rare and healthy sign for word-of-mouth.

Day-Wise Collection of DC

Day	Gross Collection
Friday	Rs. 5.25 crore
Saturday	Rs. 7.50 crore
Sunday	Rs. 10.75 crore
Monday	Rs. 6.50 crore
Tuesday	Rs. 6.50 crore
Total	Rs. 36.50 crore

Where DC Is Winning Big

Tamil Nadu leads with Rs. 11.50 crore, followed closely by the Telugu states at Rs. 10 crore. But the real surprise is Kerala, where the film opened at a modest Rs. 50 lakh and has since exploded to Rs. 8.10 crore — Tuesday’s number alone was nearly four times its Day 1 haul there. Karnataka added Rs. 4.50 crore, while the rest of India chipped in Rs. 2.40 crore.

Territory	Gross Collection
Tamil Nadu	Rs. 11.50 crore
Andhra Pradesh/Telangana	Rs. 10.00 crore
Karnataka	Rs. 4.50 crore
Kerala	Rs. 8.10 crore
Rest of India	Rs. 2.40 crore
India Total	Rs. 36.50 crore

With a strong hold like this, trade watchers now expect DC to close its opening week near Rs. 45 crore and cross the Rs. 50 crore milestone by the second weekend — an impressive feat for a movie that opened at just Rs. 5 crore. Its next test comes when it squares off against fresh competition from Vishwanath & Sons in its second week.
