Two days. That’s all it took for DAY6’s Young K to blow past a record he set himself. His comeback with “YOUNGEST” isn’t just performing well — it’s rewriting his personal sales history in real time.

What Happened?

On July 27, Young K returned with his second full-length solo album “YOUNGEST” and its title track “Shut The Door.” On its first day of sales alone, the album sold 52,698 copies, breaking his previous first-week sales record of 40,189 copies within just a single day. That earlier record had stood since his 2023 debut full album “Letters with notes.” soompi

By the end of the very next day, the numbers climbed even higher. Hanteo Chart reported that by July 28 KST, “YOUNGEST” had already sold a total of 106,461 copies — meaning the album took just two days to more than double his previous first-week record.

Why This Matters

For a solo artist competing against a market packed with group comebacks, doubling your own benchmark in 48 hours is no small feat. With the sales week still running through August 2, fans and industry watchers alike are curious just how high the final tally will climb. DAY6 itself has built a reputation as one of K-pop’s most consistent band-format acts since debuting under JYP Entertainment; more on the group’s history is available on Wikipedia’s DAY6 page.
