What to Expect in Season 2

Dandadan Season 1 ended in December 2024 after adapting the first four volumes (Chapters 1–32). The new season picks up from Chapter 33, launching straight into the Curse House Arc, before diving headfirst into the twisted Evil Eye Arc. There’s even speculation that the entire Kaiju Arc could be covered by the end of this 12-episode run.

Expect more supernatural battles, emotional depth, and absurd humor—all backed by Studio Science Saru’s breathtaking animation. Hiroshi Seko returns as head writer, while Abel Góngora joins Fuga Yamashiro in directing duties. Góngora, known for his work on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and Star Wars: Visions, brings a bold new energy to the series.

Why Dandadan Is a Must-Watch

Dandadan defies expectations. While it’s rooted in shonen tropes, its true power lies in the genre-blending execution—balancing action, horror, comedy, and romance with masterful flair.

According to Shonen Jump+ editor Lin, even the creators were stunned by the show’s global popularity. Its offbeat humor and emotional authenticity resonated with both hardcore anime fans and newcomers, many of whom found the show through Netflix’s massive global audience. “Many people enjoyed the series around the world, even more than the production team expected.” — Lin, Editor at Shonen Jump+
