Crunchyroll announced multiple highly anticipated anime series acquisitions at AnimagiC 2025 in Mannheim, Germany, on August 2, 2025. The lineup includes “My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s,” “This Monster Wants to Eat Me,” and six other exciting titles coming in October 2025 and beyond.
Table of Contents
October 2025 Anime Lineup
| Series Title | Studio | Genre | Territory |
|---|---|---|---|
| My Status as an Assassin | Sunrise | Isekai/Action | Worldwide (ex. Asia) |
| This Monster Wants to Eat Me | STUDIO LINGS | Horror/Romance | Worldwide (ex. Asia) |
| Warrior Princess & Barbaric King | Jumondo | Romance/Fantasy | Worldwide (ex. Japan/China) |
| Mechanical Marie | Zero-G & Liber | Action/Comedy | Worldwide (ex. Asia, inc. India) |
| Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! | Marvy Jack | Romantic Comedy | Worldwide (limited exclusions) |
Standout Series Highlights
My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s features Akira Oda, summoned to another world with seemingly weak assassin abilities that eventually surpass even heroes. Produced by legendary Sunrise studio behind Cowboy Bebop and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
This Monster Wants to Eat Me presents a unique horror-romance where mermaid Shiori protects Hinako until she’s ready to be devoured, creating an intriguingly dark premise from STUDIO LINGS.
The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King explores enemies-to-lovers romance between Princess Knight Serafina and a Barbarian King, offering cross-cultural fantasy storytelling.
Future Releases Beyond 2025
Three additional series arrive later: Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family! (2025), The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife (2026), and ROLL OVER AND DIE (2026), expanding Crunchyroll’s diverse content portfolio.
German Dub Expansions
Crunchyroll also announced German dubs for Lord of Mysteries, Case Closed episodes 484-533, and Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 2, strengthening their European market presence.
Global Streaming Strategy
Most titles will stream worldwide with strategic regional exclusions, demonstrating Crunchyroll’s commitment to bringing anime to global audiences while respecting licensing territories.
The announcements reinforce Crunchyroll’s position as the ultimate anime destination, continuing to expand their premium streaming library with diverse genres from isekai adventures to romantic comedies.
