Corentin Tolisso leaves Bayern as free agent after 5 years with them

Bayern Munich have parted ways with Corentin Tolisso, who leaves the club as a free agent. The player and the club mutually decided not to renew the contract, and Tolisso has left the club immediately. He will now be able to sign for a club of his choosing for no transfer fee.

The 2018 World Cup winner joined Bayern Munich in 2017 from Lyon for a transfer fee worth €41.5 million. But, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as one of the starting midfielders in the line-up over the last five years. As a result, he is now leaving the club with ambitions of an improved opportunity.

Corentin Tolisso leaves Bayern Munich after contract expiry

Bayern Munich are working to reinforce their midfield this summer. They have an agreement with Ajax to sign Ryan Gravenberch, and only the medical tests are to be conducted for the transfer. RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer is also a target for the Bavarians to replace Corentin Tolisso.

However, the deal for Laimer will not be easy since RB Leipzig are direct rivals for the Bundesliga title. Regardless, Bayern Munich are pushing to sign the Austrian this summer and reunite him with Julian Nagelsmann.

Bayern will also have to deal with the loss of Robert Lewandowski, after the striker publicly confirmed that he won’t be staying at the club any more. As a result, a new striker will be on the cards for the Bundesliga champions too.
