The Core i5-13600K blows away the new Ryzen 5 7600X

Intel has recently launched its Raptor Lake CPUs across the globe with beefed-up specs and an eye-catchy performance bump, the new Core i5-13600K seems to be a nice option for those who are looking for a powerful option in the budget segment. Now, sporting up to 14 cores and reaching up to 5.1GHz undoubtedly, this is the best option currently for gamers who aren’t looking to spend much.

When we attended the launch event in India, Intel did mention that they actually value budget gamers because a market like this is filled with people who want the best bang for the buck. Personally, as most review units of both Intel and AMD could not be tested as yet, we relied on the early reviews of multiple media.

While I did expect the new Core i5-13600K to crush the newer Ryzen 5 7600X which is again limited to 6 cores still in 2022 but the KF variant with almost similar pricing to that of the 7600X will actually make Intel a much better buy. As you see in the benchmarks of Cinebench R23 there is a huge gap between the 7600X and the 13600K, almost 60% faster in multi-core but in single-core, it’s only 2-3% faster.

So, as you see in the Linus Tech Tips video the Core i5-13600K is very fast when compared to the 6-core Ryzen chip, mostly this is because of the increase in the number of efficiency cores. Intel did play the core game this time but as long as users are getting more performance for the price, it does win the race.

If AMD could have stepped up two more of its performance cores per processor, it would have easily given Intel’s Raptor Lake a nightmare but this is not the case. In terms of single-core performance and gaming, the Core i5-13600K is slightly better but its main advantage is in its multi-core performance obviously.

The best thing about Intel this time is with a $319 price, this puts a nail in the coffin for AMD and further, the KF variant for $294 holds an amazing value for the price. Now, it will be interesting to see what AMD answers with and how Intel with more discounts could further heat up the competition.
