Get ready for a dose of period action comedy — Comrade Kalyan, starring Sree Vishnu, has locked its theatrical release, and the makers picked the most fitting day to announce it.
The Big Reveal
On Independence Day, the team dropped the date with a punchy line: the film is “coming… not to start a revolution, but to start a LAUGH RIOT.” Comrade Kalyan will now hit the big screens on October 9, 2026, timed to coincide with the festive Dussehra season — a period traditionally packed with big-ticket releases across Indian cinema.

The film also features Satya and Mukku Avinash in pivotal roles, promising a mix of period setting and comic chaos rather than a serious drama. With Sree Vishnu’s knack for offbeat comic timing — seen recently in projects like Mrithyunjay — expectations are high for a fun, festive watch.
What the Leads Are Up To
Sree Vishnu also had an extended cameo in the Tharun Bhascker-led Gaayapadda Simham, while co-star Mahima Nambiar will next be seen in the Soori-starrer Mandaadi, releasing September 10, 2026 — giving fans back-to-back reasons to head to theatres this festive season.
