Three days, one love triangle, and a whole lot of box office buzz. Cocktail 2 has wrapped its opening weekend, and the numbers are turning heads across the trade.

The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer collected Rs 16.50 crore on Day 3, taking its three-day total to Rs 44.50 crore nett in India. On paper, that’s a strong start — though trade insiders note a considerable external push behind the figures, so the “real” picture may only emerge once the dust settles on weekdays.

Cocktail 2: Weekend Collection Breakdown

Day	Box Office Collection
Day 1 (Friday)	Rs 12.50 crore
Day 2 (Saturday)	Rs 15.50 crore
Day 3 (Sunday)	Rs 16.50 crore
Total	Rs 44.50 crore

How Does It Compare to the Original?

Backed by Maddock Films, this rom-com sequel is already outpacing Shahid Kapoor’s previous release, O’ Romeo. But the real benchmark is the 2012 original, Cocktail, which opened at Rs 10.50 crore nett and finished its run at Rs 74.50 crore — numbers that would look even bigger adjusted for inflation. Whether the sequel can match that lifetime run is the question everyone in the trade is now asking.

What’s Next for Cocktail 2?

The opening weekend always tells half the story. The real test begins now — weekday collections will reveal whether audiences are showing up purely for the stars, or because the film genuinely works. Stay tuned for more box office trackers and entertainment updates on TechnoSports.
