CMF’s Cheapest Earbuds Yet Are Landing This Week — Here’s What to Expect

Not every launch needs to be a flagship. CMF, Nothing’s budget-focused sub-brand, is skipping a new phone this year but making up for it with something smaller: the CMF Buds Neo, launching in India on August 20th at 12 noon IST, positioned as the brand’s “most accessible entry point” yet.

What We Know From the Teaser

CMF’s latest teaser reveals three likely colour options — blue, orange and black — following an earlier close-up shot that showed a single earbud with a white stem, metallic-looking body and orange silicone tip, though the company kept the name and date under wraps until now. The design shows at least two microphone openings and what looks like a circular touch-control zone on the stem, echoing CMF’s existing earbud aesthetic.

Why CMF’s Launch Matters Right Now

CMF co-founder Akis Evangelidis had earlier confirmed the brand would skip a CMF Phone 3 Pro this year, citing rising memory prices that made a genuine upgrade hard to justify at a sensible price. He also teased new products and entirely new categories for 2026 — the Buds Neo looks like the first of those to arrive.

Where It Might Sit in CMF’s Lineup

The existing CMF Buds 2 already comes with 11mm drivers, up to 48dB hybrid ANC, Bluetooth 5.4, IP55 protection and Spatial Audio at Rs 2,699, while the Buds 2 Plus adds 12mm LCP drivers and LDAC support for Rs 3,299. Given the “most accessible” tag, the Buds Neo is expected to slot in below the Buds 2 — likely trimming a few premium features to hit a lower price point, though CMF hasn’t confirmed specs yet.
