Two generations of Korean cinema just collided in one poster. Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee have finally given fans their first real look at the Korean remake of “The Intern,” and it’s every bit as charming as expected.

Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee’s new film “The Intern” has unveiled its first poster and teaser, capturing the confident strides of senior intern Gi Ho and passionate CEO Sun Woo as they head to work side by side.

The Story

“The Intern” follows Gi Ho (Choi Min Sik), a senior intern with 37 years of work experience, who joins the company of Sun Woo (Han So Hee), a CEO who built her fashion startup into an industry dark horse in just three years. The trailer opens with Gi-ho heading to his first day of work, visibly nervous but excited.

The film reimagines Nancy Meyers’ 2015 comedy, which starred Robert De Niro as a 70-year-old retiree taking a “senior intern” role at a fast-growing startup led by Anne Hathaway’s character.

Why This Casting Works

Choi, one of Korea’s most decorated actors known internationally for “Oldboy” and “I Saw the Devil,” steps into the De Niro role, while Han, known for edgy roles and wider recognition through “Gyeongseong Creature,” takes on the young CEO part originated by HathawayDirector Kim Do-young previously helmed “Kim Ji-young: Born 1982” and 2025’s “Once We Were Us,” both known for drawing large domestic audiences with relatable characters.

The film hits Korean theaters on September 16, produced by Anthology Studio and Warner Bros. Korea. It joins a growing wave of Hollywood titles getting the Korean cinema remake treatment, proving the industry’s crossover appeal keeps growing both ways.
