When Does Chicago Fire Season 14 Air?

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 9 PM ET/PT on NBC. The season premiere, titled “Kicking Down Doors,” launches the 21-episode run that promises to shake up Firehouse 51 like never before.

Unlike binge-worthy streaming shows, Chicago Fire follows the classic broadcast model—new episodes drop weekly every Wednesday night. Can’t catch it live? No problem. Episodes become available on Peacock the next day, perfect for streaming on your schedule.

What’s Different This Season?

New Leadership, New Challenges

Battalion Chief Dom Pascal takes command, bringing fresh dynamics to the firehouse. The premiere episode synopsis teases “new tensions” and “chaos in the city,” suggesting Season 14 won’t ease viewers back gently.

Cast Shake-Up

Saying Goodbye:
The show bids farewell to Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter), Jake Lockett (Sam Carver), and Michael Bradway (Jack Damon). Kyri will appear in the premiere to close his character’s storyline, but series creator Andrea Newman hints at possible returns. “Anybody can come back at any time,” she told Parade in a recent interview.

Welcoming New Faces:
Brandon Larracuente joins as Sal Vasquez, while Annabeth Gish plays Annette Davis—both in recurring roles that promise to stir the pot at Firehouse 51.

Familiar Favorites:
Fan-favorites return, including Taylor Kinney (Kelly Severide), Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella Kidd), and David Eigenberg (Christopher Herrmann).

The Parenthood Storyline

One of Season 14’s most anticipated arcs follows Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide’s journey into parenthood. Newman revealed that Stella’s fears—rooted in her own difficult childhood—will be central to her character development.

“When it actually happens, a lot of those concerns go right out the window,” Newman explained. “Seeing the transition for her between all of the concerns she had early on and what it actually looks like as a parent and firefighter is something we’re excited to explore.”

This emotional depth is what keeps Chicago Fire among NBC’s top dramas, balancing intense rescue sequences with genuine human connections.

Why Chicago Fire Keeps Burning Bright

Created by Dick Wolf and Derek Haas, Chicago Fire has delivered consistent ratings for over a decade. Its success lies in the perfect formula: compelling characters, realistic firefighting action, and storylines that resonate beyond the station walls.

The show doesn’t just showcase heroic rescues—it explores personal struggles, romantic relationships, and the toll that saving lives takes on first responders. That authenticity has earned it a loyal fanbase and multiple spin-offs within the One Chicago universe.
