CES 2020: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 & X1 Yoga Gen 5 with 10th Gen Comet CPUs launched

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 series is very popular for both its performance & productivity and among them both the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga have been loved by users. So, this year finally upgrading the laptops with to 10th Gen Intel Comet processors.

Lenovo announced both the X1 Carbon Gen 8 and X1 Yoga Gen 5 at the CES 2020, featuring the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CML-U SKUs also there’s their vPro-equipped counterparts as well. You can also opt for a 6-core Core i7 CPU as well.

Both these laptops feature 4K Dolby Vision panels along with a new 500 nit FHD PrivacyGuard AG display with PrivacyAlert. The PrivacyAlert feature warns users if anyone is looking at their screen and turns on the PrivacyGuard feature automatically. Also an upgraded keyboard layout with unified communications controls.

Lenovo also claims that both the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 and X1 Yoga Gen 5 are MIL-SPEC tested and also support Dolby Atmos audio. The keyboard remains the same as last gen, now comes equipped with VoIP call buttons, rest all of the design also is conserved compared to 2019 models.

The updated Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 has a starting price of $1,499(around Rs.1,07,600) and the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5 starts at $1,599(around Rs.1,14,800).
